Community Spotlight

Meet Ciara Jennings! A longtime basketball fan and Chicago native, Ciara joined The Girls Who Ball looking to meet more women who love sports as much as she does. These days, you can usually find her watching the WNBA, planning her next game-day outing, or convincing her friends that this is finally the year her team makes a run.

Outside of sports, Ciara works in marketing, loves trying new restaurants around the city, and is always down for a good girls’ night. We’re so happy to have her in the TGWB community—and even happier that she brings her game-day opinions with her.

WOMEN ARE HOOPIN’ 🔥

The WNBA is heating up — and the girls are bringing the drama. Caitlin Clark just dropped her fourth career triple-double (26 PTS, 10 REB, 10 AST) to lead the Fever to their fifth straight win, while the Liberty just edged out the Storm in a battle between two of the league’s biggest contenders. Consider us locked in.

FOOTBALL IS BACK, BABY 🏈

It’s officially football season again! The Panthers and Cardinals are kicking off the 2026 NFL preseason tonight in the Hall of Fame Game — which means it’s time to dust off the jerseys, start making Sunday plans, and get your fantasy group chat ready.

Clear your calendar because there’s some serious sports on deck. Tonight, the Aces take on the Fever in a battle between two of the WNBA’s top teams. Friday brings Mercury vs. Sun, and Saturday has the Aces heading to Minnesota to face the Lynx — plus the Fever vs. Sky in Chicago. And for the football girls? The Panthers vs. Cardinals kick off the NFL preseason tonight. Basically, your weekend plans are handled.

next up

here's what to start getting excited about

The calendar is filling up, and we’re just getting started. From more member-only game nights and new city meetups to exclusive sports experiences (and a few surprises we’re not quite ready to spill yet 👀), there’s plenty on the horizon. Keep an eye on the community—you never know what we’ll announce next, or which city we’ll be popping up in.

founder's note

Hi girls! I’m so excited to see The Girls Who Ball continue to grow and become a place where women can come together, meet new friends, and enjoy sports in a way that feels fun and social. What started as an idea to bring more women into the sports conversation is quickly becoming a community that’s so much bigger than I imagined. Every event, new member, conversation, and game-day moment reminds me why we started this in the first place. I’m so grateful to everyone who has joined us, shared TGWB with a friend, or simply showed up ready to have a good time. We have so many fun things coming up, and I can’t wait to experience what’s next with all of you. See you at the next game!
